When the Dashboard Doesn’t Tell the Whole Story

As this reset comes to a close, this past week didn’t look especially impressive on the dashboard.

I wasn’t consistently checking things off. Some habits slipped. Movement didn’t happen. And for a moment, it was easy to feel like I wasn’t practicing what I talk about.

But when I stepped back and looked at the bigger picture, a few things stood out.

Sleep stayed consistent.
Meals stayed balanced.
Added sugar stayed limited.
The daily education stayed part of my day.

More importantly, I stayed engaged — supporting and walking alongside others in this reset, even when my own week felt scattered.

Overall consistency across the reset landed around 75%. Not the original 80% target — but still far from zero.

And that’s the point.

This experience has been a good reminder that long-term change isn’t built by managing six habits at once forever. It’s built by choosing one habit to focus on next — and letting that be enough for now.

For me, that next habit is movement.

Balanced enough to keep going.

Week 3: The Quiet Work Adds Up

And just like that, it’s already Wednesday of Week 3.

It’s been a few days since I last wrote — not for any dramatic reason, just life doing what it does.

Last week ended up being more of a recovery week, but even with reduced activity, it was still surprisingly manageable to hit about 80% of what I’m aiming for right now.

Consistent sleep.
A simple morning mindset.
Balanced meals.

Those basics are doing more than I expected — and yes, I’m down a couple of pounds. Not shocking, but still a helpful data point.

I went into this reset mostly to get my own house back in order. Walking the walk matters to me, and I wanted to experience this reset in real time instead of talking about it from the outside.

The last few years made it easy to put myself on the back burner. Stress crept up. Sleep became negotiable. Movement got inconsistent.

Add menopause to the mix, and things shifted faster than I wanted them to.

What this reset has reinforced is something I already knew: knowing what to do isn’t usually the issue. Doing it consistently is.

Having a few people walking alongside me — sharing perspective, comparing notes, staying visible — has made a bigger difference than any single habit.

Sometimes that’s the secret sauce.
